ARIZONA (28-18, 6-9)Last Week: at USC L 6-14, 10-12, W15-12 This Week: No gamesThe Wildcats have just nine games left in their season, three weekend series against UCLA, Washington State and Washington. Arizona plays no games this week as the team prepares for finals ... Despite losing two games last weekend, UofA matched up offensively with the Trojans. Arizona was out-hit just 31-38 and scored just one less run than USC (41-42) ... SR C Chris Cunningham led the 'Cats at the plate against the Trojans, hitting .500 (6-for-12) with a pair of home runs, five RBI and six runs scored. He paces the 'Cats in doubles (12), home runs (11), RBI (50) and is tied for first with 43 runs and three triples ... SR SS Brad Hassey continues to lead Arizona's team with a .330 batting average. He is also tops on the squad with 66 hits and 13 stolen bases. He is tied for the team lead with 43 runs ... SO RHP Sean Rierson's seven victories lead the team. Rierson is ranked second in the Conference in innings pitched (96.2), fifth in strikeouts (67), first in batters struck out looking (30).

ARIZONA STATE (26-16, 9-6)Last Week: at Oklahoma W 7-5, at Notre Dame L 4-9 This Week: New Mexico StateArizona State's road trip to the Midwest was cut short a game after the Sun Devils' second game against Notre Dame was rained out ... ASU split its games last week, defeating Oklahoma, but falling to the Irish. The Sun Devils' game against the Sooners was played at Bricktown Ballpark, home of the Triple-A Oklahoma Redhawks. ASU is 3-1 at the ballpark ... The Sun Devils have a midweek game against New Mexico State, but play no games this weekend in preparation for finals ... Sun Devil pitchers have given up nine home runs in the last eight games, while Sun Devil hitters have gone seven games without hitting one out ... Sophomores Steve Garrabrants and Jeremy West are ranked in several Pac-10 statistical categories. Garrabrants ranks sixth in on-base percentage (.468), second in triples (5) and ninth in walks (25). West is fourth in the league in slugging percentage (.695), fifth in RBI (48), fourth in doubles (15), fourth in total bases (105) and tied for third in home runs (11).

CALIFORNIA (26-22, 8-10)Last Week: Washington L 0-2, 4-5, 7-10 This Week: at San Francisco, *at StanfordCalifornia was swept for just the second time this season, after Washington won all three games in Berkeley last weekend. It was the first time the Golden Bears had been swept at home since Stanford took three games at Cal in February of 2000 ... Despite the losses, SO SS Jeff Dragicevich played well going 6-for-13 with a home run and three RBI against the Huskies. JR C John Baker continued to swing a hot bat, going 4-for-9 with three doubles in the series. He is currently batting .378 with nine doubles, a triple, four home runs and 20 RBI, despite missing 10 games from mid-March to early April. He leads Cal with a .467 average against Pac-10 opponents ... SR RHP Trevor Hutchinson became Cal's all-time strikeout leader when he struck out four batters in Cal's 5-4 loss to Washington. He has 276 career K's ... Cal plays at San Francisco and Stanford this weekend.

OREGON STATE (27-15, 6-6)Last Week: at Portland W 11-4, Stanford W 3-1, 4-3, L 0-13 This Week: *at Washington StateOregon State won its second Pac-10 series victory of the season, taking two of three games at home against then-No. 4 Stanford. The Beavers were outscored by the Cardinal 17-7, but were resilient and secured their victories by a margin of just three runs ... OSU has now won eight of its last 11 games and 12 of its last 17. The Beavers are tied for fourth in the Conference with Stanford, as both have 6-6 league records ... OSU received its first Pac-10 Pitcher of the Week award, after SO RHP Ben Rowe pitched a 4-hitter to beat No. 4 Stanford 3-1 in the opening game of the series. Rowe walked zero and struck out four batters, as he threw the first complete game of his career and OSU's first complete game of the season ... SO RHP Jared Sanders set the OSU single-season record for saves, earning his ninth save of the year in the Beavers' 4-3 win in their second game against the Cardinals. SO LF Seth Pietsch has 17 doubles on the year and needs just three more to break the school's single-season record ... After playing its last two Pac-10 series at home, OSU heads to Pullman to take on WSU this weekend.

STANFORD (29-12, 6-6)Last Week: Sacramento State W 6-5, at OSU L 1-3, 3-4, W 13-0 This Week: at San Jose State, *CaliforniaStanford started last week's play with a win over Sacramento State, but lost two of three games at Oregon State. It marked the first time the Cardinal has lost two games in a row this season ... JR RHP Jeremy Guthrie had his 11-game win streak snapped in the Cardinal's 3-1 opening loss to the Beavers. He allowed the three runs on eight hits with five K's ... After being down by two games to OSU, the Cardinal came back strong shutting out the Beavers while putting 13 runs on the board. SO OF Sam Fuld scored a career-high five runs and SO RHP John Hudgins tossed his first career shutout. It was also the Cardinal's first blanking of a team this season. Hudgins allowed just four hits and had five strikeouts, improving to 7-0 on the season ... Stanford continues to lead the Conference in pitching and fielding. The Cardinal is the only team to have an ERA under 4.00 at 3.86. They boast a .971 fielding percentage.

UCLA (19-26, 5-7)Last Week: CS Fullerton L 7-9, at WSU W 5-3, L 10-14, 6-9 This Week: at UC Santa Barbara, *at WashingtonUCLA has hit the midpoint of its Pac-10 season ... Last weekend the Bruins dropped a home series to Washington State. UCLA came away with the opening game of the series, but lost the next two by a margin of seven runs ... After committing just five errors in their previous nine Conference contests, the Bruins made seven errors in the three game against WSU ... Despite the losses, JR RHP Doug Silva pitched well in relief. He logged in 7.1 innings, including the last 2.1 innings in the Bruins' win to earn a save. Silva has the second lowest ERA on the team at 3.45 and batters are hitting .240 against him ... FR 1B Wes Whisler hit four home runs in just two games against WSU. All of his hits against the Cougars were for extra-bases, in addition to the four homers he added a double ... After having no multiple home runs games in 2001, UCLA has had six this season.

USC (28-17, 11-4)Last Week: San Diego St. W 10-8, UC Santa Barbara W 11-7, Arizona W 14-6, 12-10, L 12-15 This Week: PepperdineUSC won its fourth Pac-10 series last weekend, taking two of three games from Arizona. Before losing the final game to the Wildcats, the Trojans were on a season-high eight-game winning streak ... USC has now won 16 of its last 20 games ... JR C Alberto Concepcion earned his first Pac-10 Player of the Week honor after batting .562 (9-for-16) with three home runs, three doubles and a stolen base last week. He scored 12 times and drove in eight runs. He also walked nine times. He leads USC and the Conference with a .414 batting average ... Over their last eight games the Trojans have scored 10 or more runs, and have outscored opponents 105-65 in that span ... Several Trojans had career or season-high games against the 'Cats. SO SS Michael Moon went 4-for-4 with a double, home run and career-high five RBI in USC's second win against Arizona. Moon had his 12-game hitting streak snapped in USC's loss on Sunday. FR DH Joey Metropoulos went 4-for-5 with a home run and season-high five RBI in USC's first win against the 'Cats ... USC has just three Pac-10 series left in the season and will take a week off from Conference action. The Trojans play a midweek game against Pepperdine.

WASHINGTON (20-19-1, 8-4)Last Week: at California W 2-0, 5-4, 10-7 This Week: *UCLAWashington recorded its first sweep of a Pac-10 opponent since the 2000 season. It also marked UW's first three-game Conference road sweep since the merger of the Northern and Southern divisions in 1999 ... The Huskies' three wins over Cal propelled them into second place, just one-half games back of leader USC. With eight league victories, the Huskies already have more Conference wins than in either of the last two seasons ... Washington has won eight of its last 11 games, including a 7-2 record in Pac-10 games during that run ... FR C Aaron Hathaway has started 12 straight games behind the plate. Over those games he is batting .405 with two home runs, 11 RBI and four stolen bases ... UW ranks fourth in the Conference in batting, hitting .303 as a team. However, in Pac-10 play the Huskies rank ninth, hitting at a .285 clip. The team has been stellar defensively in league contests, committing only eight errors for a .984 fielding mark ... UW returns home this week and kicks off a five-game homestand with a weekend series against UCLA.

WASHINGTON STATE (17-24, 4-11)Last Week: at Lewis-Clark St. W 7-2, at UCLA L 3-5, W 14-10, 9-6 This Week: Gonzaga, *OSUWashington State won its first Pac-10 series of the season, taking two of three at UCLA last weekend. It marked the Cougars' first Conference series win since early last season when they won two of three at California ... WSU edged out UCLA with 26 runs to the Bruins' 21. The Cougars also out-hit UCLA 37-34 ... JR Robert Stahlke played very well against the Bruins, starting in place of the injured Bookie Gates at second base. He was 6-for-11 with nine RBI and three runs scored in the series, including his first homer of the season ... JR RHP Brandon Hundt also did well last week, recording wins against Lewis-Clark State and UCLA. In 12.2 innings he allowed just three earned runs on 15 hits with one walk and 12 strikeouts. He is 6-4 on the season and has 63 K's in 70.2 innings pitched ... WSU ranks third among Pac-10 teams with a .311 batting average ... The Cougars are more than halfway through their Pac-10 slate and play Oregon State at home this weekend.
