No. 8 OSU Looks To Make Waves At Pac-10s

SCHEDULE: No. 8 Oregon State heads to the Pac-10 Conference Championships on Sunday, May 19 in Sacramento, Calif., on Lake Notoma. Heat races run from 8:00 to 10:30 a.m., with finals beginning at 12 noon and lasting approximately three hours. There will be two heats, with the top three boats in each qualifying for the finals.
OSU RANKED: The Beavers moved up to No. 8 in the May 15 CRCA national rankings. The No. 8 ranking equals the highest in the history of the program, reached earlier this year; OSU moved up one spot from last week's No. 9 ranking.
LAST YEAR AT PAC-10S: The varsity eight opened by winning its heat race, edging Stanford by four seconds to earn a berth in the finals. The varsity went on to capture third place for the seventh year in a row under head coach Dave Reischman, finishing less than two seconds off second-place Washington's pace with a time of 6:03.00. Cal won by over 10 seconds.
The novice eight won its heat race as well, while the JV finished second to Washington. Once in their respective finals, both boats went on to finish third.
The varsity four finished fifth in its final.
