Bruins 23rd After Second Round At NCAA's

The UCLA women's golf team is in 23rd place after the second round at the NCAA Championships, hosted by the University of Washington at Washington National Golf Course.

The Bruins posted a second round score of 297, nine-over par, and they have a 36-hole total of 611. Arizona leads the field at 581, six-over par, followed by Duke at 587 and defending NCAA champion Georgia at 588.

Individually, sophomore Melissa Martin is tied for 29th place at four-over par 148. Freshman Charlotte Mayorkas, who posted an even par score of 72, is tied for 76th at 153. Sophomore Gina Umeck and freshman Yvonne Choe are tied for 94th at 155, and senior Alicia Um is tied for 112th at 159.

Duke's Virada Nirapathpongporn and Georgia's Summer Sirmons are tied for first place at seven-under par 137. Arizona's Lorena Ochoa is third at four-under par 140 after posting a score of 69 on Wednesday.
