Barden Honored For Second Straight Year

CORVALLIS, Ore. - Oregon State junior third baseman Brian Barden was named to the All-Pacific-10 baseball team that was selected by conference coaches and announced Tuesday.

Earning honorable mention for the Beavers were junior shortstop Will Hudson, junior first baseman Andy Jarvis, junior relief pitcher Ty Kline, freshman outfielder Aaron Mathews, sophomore outfielder Seth Pietsch and sophomore relief pitcher Jared Sanders.

Barden (Bonita, Calif./St. Augustine HS) was named to the first team for the second straight season. He batted .349 with 15 doubles, 1 triple, 9 homers and 50 runs batted in.

Hudson (Fountain Valley, Calif./Fountain Valley HS) batted .313 with 10 doubles, 2 triples, 2 homers and 24 RBIs.

Jarvis (Renton, Wash./Liberty HS) batted .335 with 9 doubles, 2 triples, 11 homers and 44 RBIs.

Kline (West Linn, Ore./Sunset HS, Mt. Hood CC) had a 6-1 record with two saves and a 3.68 earned run average.

Mathews (John Day, Ore./Grant Union HS) batted .338 with 5 doubles, 3 triples, 2 homers, 26 RBIs and 10 stolen bases.

Pietsch (Wilderville, Ore./Hidden Valley HS) batted .307 with a school-record 24 doubles, 6 triples, 8 homers and 34 RBIs.

Sanders (Bend, Ore./Mountain View HS, Mt. Hood CC) had a 1-5 record with a school-record 9 saves and a 3.23 earned run average.
