Field Finals

Hammer-Senior Scott Moser placed 12th, with a mark of 202-4 (he entered themeet at No. 11 on the collegiate chart, 210-11.50, May 4, No. 5 in schoolhistory). Moser does earn All-American status (top eight Americans), for thefourth time in his career. The two-time defending Pac-10 discus champion,Moser on Friday will compete in the discus competition (No. 4 on the currentcollegiate chart, 200-3, May 4). Last year at the 2001 NCAA Outdoor, Moserplaced third in the discus.

Long Jump-sophomore Juane Armon, who injured his right knee at the Pac-10meet two weeks ago, was unable to make the finals of the long jump, placing18th (24-3.75). Armon entered the meet with the No. 6 mark (26-3, May 4, No.5 in school history) but the knee injury hindered him throughout the event.

Track Prelims

400m IH-junior Kyle Erickson's injured left hamstring prevented him fromfinishing his heat (almost immediately out of the starting block Ericksonpulled up). The hamstring injury also kept him out of the Pac-10 meet twoweeks ago. Erickson came into the meet with the No. 5 mark (49.62, 5/4, No.4 in school history).

200m-senior Michael Lipscomb, running in heat one, placed fourth (20.83) anddid not advance to Saturday's final.
