Kim Welch, Donna Bell To Participate In All-Star Trip To Asia

PULLMAN, Wash. - Washington State's Donna Bell and Kim Welch will compete as members of a NCAA All-Star Women's Golf Team, which will tour Asia this summer.

Bell, an incoming senior from Prince George, British Columbia and Welch, an incoming sophomore from Sacramento, Calif., are among a group of 10 women who will take part in the tour, which runs from June 23 to July 28. The team will play in several tournaments at locales such as Tokyo, Seoul and Hong Kong.

'This will be a great experience for Donna and Kim,' said WSU Head Coach Walt Williams of the tour. 'To be able to visit cities such as Tokyo, Seoul and Hong Kong will be a wonderful cultural experience for them.'

The tour tees-off on the mainland at the NCAA All-Star Invitational at Ocean Trails Golf Club in Rancho Palos Verdes, Calif., June 24. Two days later, the team departs Los Angeles for Tokyo to begin the international portion of the trip.

Along with Welch and Bell, the All-Star team includes Jordan Auten (San Francisco), Taya Battistella (Portland State), Nicole Deacon (San Jose State), Lindy Hitdlebaugh (Louisiana State), Katy Joslyn (Nevada), Marie Louise Juul (Long Beach State), Brooke Shelton (Louisiana State), and Kacy Thompson (South Carolina).
