Courtney Scott Named First Team Pac-10 All-Academic

BERKELEY - Junior catcher Courtney Scott, who helped lead Cal to the NCAA championship last month, has been named to the first team Pac-10 All-Academic squad for softball.

Scott carries a 3.20 GPA as an American studies major. Earlier this spring, she was voted first team Academic All-District, an area that encompasses schools in nine Western states plus British Columbia.

For the season, Scott batted .301 with three home runs and a team-leading 46 RBI.

To be eligible for selection to the academic teams, a student-athlete must have a minimum 3.0 overall grade-point average and be either a starter or significant substitute.
