Sign Up For UCLA Gymnastics Summer Camp
June 24, 2002
By popular demand, UCLA gymnastics head coach Valorie Kondos Field and assistant coaches Steve Gerlach and Milo Johnson have added a second overnight summer camp on July 14-18 on the UCLA campus. The overnight camp will be held in conjunction with the Session II day camp, which will be held July 15-19.
The UCLA Gymnastics Camp provides an atmosphere of learning as well as great fun. This camp is designed for the beginner to elite gymnast. Basic gymnastics skills are reinforced throughout the entire of the camp, and new skill progressions will be introduced.
The camps are held at Yates Gym in UCLA's John Wooden Center. Campers are housed in UCLA residence halls, and meals are served in the residence hall cafeteria. The UCLA coaching staff along with top club coaches will be present each day to instruct and help participants improve their skills. The Bruin coaching staff will be assisted by members of the UCLA Gymnastics team. Confirmed camp assistants at the July 14-18 and July 15-19 camps include 2000 U.S. Olympian Kristen Maloney, two-time Canadian Olympian and 2001 NCAA uneven bars champion Yvonne Tousek and 2001 Junior Olympic Regional all-around and beam champion Christie Tedmon.
