Lacey Boutwell Takes 6th In 100 Meter Free At Janet Evans Invitational

Los Angeles, Calif. - Stanford women's swimmer Lacey Boutwell placed sixth in the 100 meter free competing for MetWest on the second day of the Janet Evans Invitational hosted by USC on Friday at McDonald's Swim Stadium. Boutwell clocked in at 58.11 in the finals after posting a 57.66 mark in the prelims. Former Stanford swimmer Gabrielle Rose won the 100 meter free with a time of 56.84. MetWest had three other Stanford swimmers compete in the 100 free -- Megan Baumgartner (64th, 1:00.91), Haley Champion (81st, 1:01.44) and Tara Kirk (96th, 1:02.13).

Stanford swimmers Tenley Bick (52nd, 2:29.25) and Erin Glenn (56th, 2:30.67) competed in the 200 meter fly.

Glenn (400 meter free, 51st, 4:32.17) and Baumgartner (200 meter back, 80th, 2:34.95) rounded out performances by current Stanford swimmers on Friday.

Friday's other winners were Ilidiko Szekely (Capital Area, 200 meter fly, 2:16.63), Erin Volcan (Nova, 200 meter back, 2:15.96) and Lindsay Benko (Trojan, 400 meter free, 4:15.87).The 2002 Janet Evans Invitational will continue through Sunday, July 21.
