Schroeder Makes U.S. Under-23 National Team

Stanford, Calif. - Stanford sophomore Jamie Schroeder has made the U.S. National Team Under 23 Eight. The U.S. squad will begin racing on July 25th in Genoa, Italy. In fierce selection competition, junior Chris Jones was the last man dropped from the squad of ten. Head Coach Craig Amerkhanian stated: 'I am very proud of the effort and determination that Chris and Jamie displayed in attending the Nation's Cup camp. Both are to be commended for such an outstanding performance.' Schroeder, the reigning World Ergometer Champion is sitting 5 seat in the Eight. The international competition is a big step for Jamie as he works toward the Athens Olympics in 2004. The U.S. 8 will begin its gold medal push with heats on Thursday.
