Scot Thompson Selected To Pre-Season All-America Team

UCLA senior defender Scot Thompson (Rancho Santa Margarita, CA/Trabuco Hills HS) has been selected to Soccer America's pre-season All-America team.

Thompson is a two-time All-Pac-10 honoree and was selected as UCLA's Defensive MVP last season. In 2001, he started all 23 games for the Bruins and contributed to nine shutouts. Thompson has seen action in 55 career games with 46 starts. He has totaled eight goals in his career.

A member of the U.S. Under-23 National Team, Thompson played with the U-23s in a series of exhibition games in England earlier this month.

Thompson and the Bruins, which are ranked No. 12 by Soccer America and No. 9 by Soccer, kick off the 2002 season Friday, Aug. 30 against Boston University at the Cal State Fullerton Soccer Town Classic.
