Men's Soccer Player of the Week

WALNUT CREEK, Calif. - Stanford senior forward Roger Levesque has been named the Pac-10 Men's Soccer Player of the Week for Sept. 3-Sept. 8, Commissioner Tom Hansen announced today.

Levesque, a native of Portland, Maine, notched five points for the Cardinal last week, scoring a goal and adding three assists as Stanford downed No. 8/No. 16 Southern Methodist and NR/No. 15 Portland at home. Levesque netted a goal and added two assists - including an assist on the game-winning goal - against SMU on Sept. 6. The Cardinal forward was the 2001 Pac-10 Player of the Year.

Stanford (3-0-0) is ranked No. 1 in both the NSCAA/adidas and Soccer America polls.

This is the second weekly honor for Levesque and the fifth all-time Player of the Week honor for Stanford.
