Men's Golf Tied For Ninth At Tucker Intercollegiate

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. - Oregon State's men's golf team shot a combined 589 in two rounds of play Friday to finish in a tie for ninth after one day of competition at the Tucker Intercollegiate.
New Mexico leads the 18-team field after shooting rounds of 281 and 288 to finish with a 569 on its own UNM Championship Course, a 7,248, par 72 course. UNLV is in second place at 570 (288-282), followed by third place Arizona (284-291-575).
OSU started the day off strong, shooting a 286 in the first round - good for the third best score of the round. However, the team struggled to a 303 in the second round to drop to a tie with New Mexico State for ninth place.
New Mexico's Michael Letzig shot a 137 (69-68) to hold a one-stroke lead over UNLV's Ryan Moore (69-69) for the top individual spot.
The tournament concludes with a final round Saturday.
