No. 5 Women's Soccer Defeats San Francisco, 4-1

HONOLULU - The fifth-ranked UCLA Bruins rode the hat trick performance offreshman Iris Mora to overcome a scoreless first half and pull-away with a4-1 victory over San Francisco in the opening match of the 2002 OutriggerHotels & Resorts Soccer Classic.
Mora opened the evenings scoring at 51:30, when she made good on a feed from Allie True and sent a right-footed shot into an open goal. True ran onto a through ball from Bruin defender Nandi Pryce and drove the left flank to goal, working her way past on-rushing San Francisco keeper Stephanie Beall before finding Mora alone in the middle of the USF penalty box.
Mora struck again in the 59th minute when she received a corner kick from Tracey Winzen above the Dons penalty box and smashed a right-footed shot past Beall. Mora registered her third score of the evening in the 82nd minute off an assist from Katie Rivera. Rivera scoredUCLAs other goal at 78:31.
San Francisco receivced a goal from Caty Harris at the 66:34 mark to close UCLAs lead to 2-1 early in the second period. Harris collected a deflection of a Dons shot and drove five yards to the end line before drilling a sharp-angle shot into the far upper-v of the UCLA goal.
On the match, UCLA out-shot San Francisco, 30-to-4, including 12-to-1 in the first half.
