Wake Forest Remains Unbeaten With 2-1 Win Over Women's Soccer

LOS ANGELES -- Alena Thom's goal in the final minute of the first half gave the No. 13 Wake Forest Demon Deacons a 2-1 win over the No. 21 USC Trojans in Winston-Salem, N.C. Wake Forest improves to 7-0 on the season while USC falls to 2-3-1.

Ali Fennell scored her second goal in as many games for the Women of Troy. Sophomore goalkeeper Julie Peterson made five saves as she had her consecutive shutout streak stopped at three games.

USC returns home to play its first home match of the 2002 season next Saturday (Sept. 21) against BYU at 1 p.m.
