Women's Cross Country Finishes Fourth At San Diego State Aztec Invitational

Senior Danielle Morrell placed 23rd to lead the USC women's cross country team to a fourth place finish at the San Diego State Aztec Invitational on Saturday (Sept. 14).

USC finished ahead of No. 25-ranked Arizona with a total of 122 points. Arkansas was first with 22, follwed by Northern Arizona (14) and San Diego State. Arizona was sixth with 161.

Ida Nilsson of Northern Arizona finished first overall in a time of 17:44.

Morrell's time was 19:19. Also for USC, Kate Pinta was 27th (19:31), Brooke Thomas was 28th (19:32), Harlye Maya was 32nd (19:54), Crystal Becker was 38th (20:18), Jazmin Treadway was 41st (20:30), Heather Hennessy was 45th (20:38), Laura Strachan was 48th (20:51) and Meghan Mainwaring was 50th (21:00).

The Women of Troy are next in action on Saturday at the UC Riverside Invitational.
