Nandi Pryce Selected to Soccer America's Team of the Week

UCLA women's soccer player Nandi Pryce was recently selected to Soccer America's Team of the Week for Sept. 9-15 following a pair of impressive performances at the Outrigger Classic in Honolulu.

Pryce, a defender out of Casselberry, Fla., helped the Bruins to a 4-1 victory over San Francisco on Sept. 13. Two days later against host Hawai'i, she scored UCLA's second goal of the match in a 2-0 victory.

For her efforts, she was named the tournament's Most Outstanding Player.

Lauren Orlandos (Portland), Sr. (2)Nike Invitational defensive MVP critical to victories -- on successive days -- over Cal State Fullerton, Nebraska and Denver, in which Pilots surrendered one goal and 12 shots on goal.

Nandi Pryce (UCLA), Jr. (1)Outrigger Classic MVP scores first goal of the season in a 2-0 triumph at Hawaii, leads defensive effort that allows foes seven total shots, just two on target.


Holly Cohen (UTEP), Sr. (1)Second hat trick of the season finishes off New Mexico, adds two more goals in romp over Texas Tech to tie Miners' single-season mark with 10th strike and lead squad to 5-0 start.

Brittany Kirk (California), Sr. (1)Crossbar queen scores one (on 25-yard volley off bar's underside) and sets up another (on 35-yard blast off the bar) in decisive win over Santa Clara; heads home tying goal -- off crossbar -- with 14 seconds to play in 1-1 draw at St. Mary's.

Tesia Kozlowski (Dayton), Soph. (1)Hat trick disposes of crosstown rival Wright State; last-minute corner kick sets up winner over Michigan State, which hadn't surrendered a goal all season.

Jenny Rynders (UAB), Soph. (1)Scores goal and dishes off gamewinning assist in OT victory over Georgia, adds a goal as Blazers blast UMass.


Kaitlyn Schmidt (St. John's), Fr. (1)Involved in all seven Red Storm goals, scoring one and assisting another in 2-0 win over Binghamton, netting lone goal in 1-1 tie with Boston U., and scoring twice with two assists in OT triumph over Old Dominion.

Christine Sinclair (Portland), Soph. (2)Canadian national-teamer scores twice in 2-1 OT win over Cal State Fullerton and 4-0 romp over Nebraska, adds assist in 2-0 victory over Denver as Pilots capture three in three days.

Lindsay Tarpley (North Carolina), Fr. (1)U.S. U-19 heroine paces top-ranked Tar Heels past No. 8 Texas A&M and No. 3 Texas, contributing goal and assist in 4-1 win over Aggies and another goal -- her fifth of the season -- in 3-2 victory over Longhorns.
