Volleyball's Katie Olsovsky Named Pac-10 Player Of The Week

WALNUT CREEK, Calif. �-- USC middle blocker Katie Olsovsky has been named Pac-10 Volleyball Player of the Week for Sept. 16-Sept. 22, Commissioner Tom Hansen announced Monday.

Olsovsky, a junior from Torrance, Calif., hit .625 with just two errors, recording 17 kills (3.40 kpg) and a team-leading seven blocks (1.40 bpg) for a grand total of 21.5 points as the Women of Troy swept both Arizona schools on the road. Against Arizona, she hit .733 with 11 kills off of 15 attacks with no errors. The attack percentage ranks sixth among USC's all-time individual matches. Against Arizona State, she hit .444 with six kills and four blocks, despite only playing in two of the three games due to illness.

USC (8-0, 2-0 in Pac-10) is ranked No. 1 by the AVCA/USA Today poll for the second consecutive week.

This is the fourth weekly honor for Olsovsky, USC's 29th Player of the Week honor all-time.
