Oregon State Finishes 12th At Mason Rudolph Classic

Senior Ashlei Pendleton paced the Beavers at the Mason Rudolph Classic at the par-72 Legends Club of Tennessee, finishing with a 232 to finish tied for 33rd. Pendleton ended the tournament with a 74 on the day.

The field was very competitive as it included five of the top 24 programs in the nation. As a team Oregon State finished two shots ahead of No. 24 Stanford with a score of 314-319-313-946.

Senior Stacie Ferguson moved up seven places from day-one to finish the tournament tied for 37th with a score of 76 on the day and 233 for the tournament, one shot behind team-leader Ashlei Pendeleton. Ferguson was coming off of a career-best third place finish at the OSU/Shanico Invitational and has been one of the Beavers most consistent golfers.

Rounding out the scoring for the Beavers on the final day were Leah Whiting and Laura Skinner who each finished with an 81; junior Kelly Ferris carded an 83.Whiting was the only freshman to compete for the squad and finished the tournament in 45th place with scores of 74-81-81-236.

Host Vanderbilt was the champion of the tournament and placed nine strokes ahead of No. 6 Arizona with a score of 878. Arizona was leading after the second round of action but was unable to put it away due to Vanderbilt shooting a blistering 291 in the final round.

Individually, Courtney Wood of Vanderbilt kept first place at home with a score of 214.

The Beavers won't be in action again until October 7-9 at the Edean Ihlanfeldt Invitational in Tacoma, WA.
