Husky Women's Golfers in Third Place at New Mexico

Albuquerque, NM - Paced by sophomore Paige Mackenzie's opening round score of 1-under 72, the Washington women's golf team is in third place after the first 18 holes of play at New Mexico's Comcast-Dick McQuire Invitational.
New Mexico turned in a team score of 5-over 297 to grab the early lead of the tournament. New Mexico State trails the Lobos by a single stroke. Washington is five strokes off the lead after shooting 8-over 300. Oklahoma is in fourth place at 301.
Washington's Lindsay Morgan carded an even-par 73 while Louise Friberg shot 1-over 74 to give the Huskies three finishers among the top 12 after one round. UW freshman Sung Ea Lee, playing in her first collegiate tournament, carded an 8-over 81. Michelle Grafos rounded out the Huskies scoring with a 13-over 86.
Play at the 54-hole event continues Friday and Saturday at the par-73, 6,069-yard UNM Championship Golf Course.
