John Dunning To Chat With Fans On Thursday
Oct. 1, 2002
On Thursday, Stanford head women's volleyball coach John Dunning, hits the chat to talk about the fourth-ranked Cardinal volleyball team and their upcoming matches against No. 1 USC and No. 13 UCLA.
Dunning is beginning his second season with the Cardinal after leading the team to an unprecented fifth NCAA National Championship in 2001. For his efforts, he was tabbed AVCA National Coach of the Year as well as Pac-10 Coach of the Year. He became the first Division I head coach to win a national championship in his first season at two different schools (Pacific and Stanford). Coming into this year, he holds a 470-104 (.819) overall record in 17 years as a head coach. His winning percentage ranks among the top five winningest active coaches in NCAA history (Division I).
This season, Dunning has got the Cardinal off to an impressive 12-1 start. Stanford has posted four wins over ranked teams, including then-No. 8 Utah, No. 14 Northern Iowa, No. 14 Pepperdine. The Cardinal also picked up a victory over Minnesota at the NACWAA/State Farm Classic, and are currently ranked sixth nationally. Senior Logan Tom was named MVP of the NACWAA/State Farm Classic and senior Ashley Ivy took MVP honors at the Stanford Invitational.
The Cardinal are off to a 3-0 start in the always tough Pac-10 Conference and will host #1 USC on Friday, October 4 in a battle of the conference unbeatens before taking on #13 UCLA on Saturday, October 5 at 7 p.m. PT.
Dunning won't hit chat until Wednesday at 4:30 p.m. ET. Feel free to drop him some questions now and we'll save them for his arrival.
