Husky Men's Golf Team Opens at Fall Preview

Seattle - The Washington's men's golf team opens its 2002-03 season at the 14th annual Ping/Golfweek Preview on Oct. 7-8. The 54-hole event is being held at Karsten Creek in Stillwater, Okla., the site of the 2003 NCAA Championships. Oklahoma State is the host for this year's event. This marks the first time the Huskies have been invited to participate in the Fall Preview.

The tournament, which will include the top 12 teams in Golfweek's preseason rankings, is comprised of 15 teams and will get underway with 36 holes on Monday and conclude with Tuesday's final round.

Action is slated to begin at 8 a.m. both days with a shotgun start on Monday.

The tournament field consists of Arizona, Auburn, Augusta State, Clemson, Florida, Georgia Tech, defending NCAA Champion Minnesota, North Carolina State, Oklahoma State, Purdue, Southern California, Texas, TCU, Wake Forest and Washington.

The Huskies lineup will include junior Dan Potter in number-one position followed by junior All-American Brock Mackenzie, senior Derek Berg, senior Conner Robbins and senior John Robertson.
