Emily Adams Named Pac-10 Volleyball Player of the Week

WALNUT CREEK, Calif. - USC middle blocker Emily Adams has been named Pac-10 VolleyballPlayer of the Week for Sept. 30-Oct. 6, Pac-10 Commissioner Tom Hansen announced today.
Adams, a sophomore from Phoenix, Ariz., hit .491 with 33 kills (3.30 kills per game) with nine blocks, six digs and two service aces in a pair of five-game victories over fourth-ranked Stanford and California.
Versus Stanford, Adams was difficult to contain as she hit .400 with 14 kills on 25 swings with four errors. Against Cal, she hit .567 with 19 kills on 30 swings with just two errors. For the weekend, she accounted for 40.5 total USC points.
USC (12-0, 6-0 in Pac-10) is ranked No. 1 in the AVCA/USA Today for the fourth consecutive week, after defeating Stanford, 3-2 and California, 3-2, on the road last weekend.
This is the first weekly honor for Adams, USC's 30th Player of the Week honor all-time.
