After advancing to the round of 32 with his victory over Mark Dietrich of Tennessee, the No. 71-ranked Balazs Veress dropped his match in an orderly fashion, 6-1, 6-1, to the 15th-seeded Matt Hanlin of Washington.
In doubles competition, the tournament's No. 6-seed, Veress and Robert Kowalczyk, defeated Florida's duo of Oliver Levant and Eleazar Magallan, 8-5, on Thursday to advance the pair to the round of 32 match against Kirk Jackson and Daniel Klemetz of Middle Tennessee State.
