    Notes on ASU Volleyball: The Sun Devils improved to 5-0 in five-game matches this year with the come-from-behind win over Cal... two of those five wins have been when ASU was down 2-0... junior setter Cheryl Anglin moved into second place in ASU all-time career assists in Thursday's match vs. Stanford... she moved past former Devil Jennifer Helfrich (1989-92) and now has 2,994 assists in 68 career matches (11.74 per game average)... ASU's next three matches are on the road at Oregon and Oregon State this weekend, then travel to Tucson for the annual showdown with Arizona... freshman Sarah Watkins had six kills vs. Cal after playing in only three games prior to that the whole season... ASU had a season-high 20.5 total blocks in five-game win over California... ASU is averaging 1,491 fans in its five home matches... junior Juliana Escobar leads the team with 4.17 kpg and 3.15 dpg... she has eight double-double double's in ASU's 12 matches... Escobar's 31 service aces are already more than ASU's team leader from last year (Jami Coughlin, 28)... senior Julia Leddy leads the team with 0.85 bpg and a .350 hitting percentage... in 85 career matches, Leddy is a .334 hitter... Leddy, junior Jodi Smith and sophomore Alicia Akporiaye each had eight total blocks in ASU's 3-2 come-from-behind win over California... normal starting libero Courtney Blocher moved into a starting role at the second outside hitter position, opening the way for senior Brittany Arnett to record a career-high 17 digs vs. Cal.

    Pac-10 Player of the Week Nomination: Alicia Akporiaye (OP, So., Tucson, Ariz.)
    Sophomore opposite hitter Alicia Akporiaye is coming off a solid weekend in the two matches against No. 4 Stanford (3-0 loss) and a 3-2 win come-from-behind win over California... Akporiaye had 18 kills in the two matches (2.25 per game average) and led the Devils in digs in both matches with 10 and 18 respectively... the 18 digs vs. Cal were a career high and for the weekend averaged 3.50 digs per game... recorded her third double-double of the year with her 14-kill, 18-dig performance vs. the Golden Bears and nearly notched ASU's first triple-double with a career-high eight total blocks (1 BS, 7 BA)... for the season Akporiaye is fourth on the team with 2.04 kpg, second with 0.23 service aces per game (11), third with 2.36 dpg and fourth with 0.51 blocks per game... she is averaging 2.77 dpg in ASU's seven Pac-10 matches.
