Walnut Creek, Calif. - Stanford women's soccer player Nicole Barnhart (Gilbertsville, PA) has been named Pac-10 Women's Soccer Player of the Week for Oct. 7-14, Commissioner Tom Hansen announced today.

Barnhart recorded 12 saves in two matches to help the top-ranked Cardinal notch shutout wins at No. 19 USC (2-0) and No. 7 UCLA (1-0). Against the Women of Troy on Oct. 11, the Gilbertsville, Pa., native posted six saves and at UCLA on Oct. 13 she collected six more. The 1-0 win over the Bruins marked just the second time this season UCLA have been held scoreless, and the first time since Sept. 8.

The victories marked Barnhart's seventh and eighth shutouts on the year. In 12 games this season, Barnhart has collected 31 saves while allowing just three goals.

Stanford will return home this weekend to host the Oregon schools in continued Pac-10 play. The Cardinal will host Oregon State on Friday (Oct. 18) at 7 p.m. and Oregon on Sunday (Oct. 20) at 1 p.m. on Maloney Field.
