Men's Golf Slips To 12th On Day-Two Of Nelson Invite

Michael Jurgensen fired a 1-over-par 72 to lead the Oregon State men's golf team in the second round of Stanford's Nelson Invitational on Friday, as the Beavers shot 292 for the second consecutive day and are in 12th place with a score of 584.
Jurgensen is among a group of six players tied for 17th with a score of 143 at the par-71 Stanford Golf Course.
Nobody broke par for the Beavers on Saturday, but nobody shot higher than 74 on a day the Beavers began in a tie for 10th.
Sean Deacon carded a 73 Friday and is still in the hunt for his second top-20 finish in three starts this fall. His score of 3-over 145 puts him in a six-way tie for 29th.
Kenny Coakley joins Deacon in 29th after following Friday's opening-round 71 with a 74 Saturday.
Georgia Tech and Duke are atop the leaderboard, tied at 3-under 565. Colorado State is six shots back in third at 571.
Oregon State is within nine shots of fifth place, occupied by Kansas at 575. The Beavers trail 13th-ranked Northwestern by two strokes.
Georgia Tech's Nicholas Thompson's 7-under 135 gives him a one-shot lead over North Carolina State's Justin Walters and Duke's Leif Olson with 18 holes to play Sunday.
