Men's Basketball to Conduct Second Scrimmage Saturday

Corvallis, Ore. - The Oregon State University men's basketball team will conduct their second game-like scrimmage of the year Sat., Nov. 2 in Gill Coliseum. The scrimmage, which is open to the public, will begin at 10 a.m. Admission is free.

The team scrimmaged last Saturday prior to the football game, with senior forward Philip Ricci leading the way with 23 points. Senior guard Jimmie Haywood added 21 points and 13 assists, and sophomore guard J.S. Nash tallied 20 points.

Senior forward Brian Jackson and sophomore center Derek Potter are expected to see action in the scrimmage. Both players, who have been nursing injuries, returned to practice Monday for the first time this season.

The men's basketball team, under the guidance of first-year head coach Jay John, opens the exhibition season Mon., Nov. 4 at 7 p.m. in Gill Coliseum against the Northwest All-Stars. The NW All-Stars is a team based in Seattle and comprises mostly former Division I college players.
