SEATTLE, Wash.- The All-American Washington women's tennis doubles team of junior Claire Carter and senior Darija Klaic has been selected to compete at the 2002 Omni Hotels National Intercollegiate Indoor Championships, held Nov. 7-10. The tournament will be hosted by SMU at the Brookhaven Country Club in Farmers Branch, Texas.

Carter and Klaic earned an at-large selection to the national tournament after a runner-up finish at the ITA Northwest Regional Championships this past week.

The Husky pair advanced to the regional doubles final with an 8-6 upset over Christina Fusano and Raquel Kops-Jones from Cal in the semifinals. In the championship match, Carter and Klaic fell to Stanford's Lauren Barnikow and Erin Burdette, 8-5.

Carter and Klaic earned All-America honors last season after advancing to the quarterfinal round of the NCAA Doubles Championships. The duo became the first doubles team in Husky history to reach the NCAA quarterfinals.
