NORTHWEST ALL-STARS?The Northwest All-Stars is a team of ex-college players. The team is based in Seattle. Three roster members have played in Gill Coliseum prior to Monday's game. Guard Jamie Booker (1994-97) and forward Dion Brown (1989-91) are former student-athletes at the University of Washington. Guard Troy Jammerman played at Seattle Pacific, and competed in Gill Dec. 5, 1992.

THE FIRST UNVEILING: Oregon State is the first school in the Pac-10 Conference to play a men's basketball game this season.

IT'S NOT OFFICIAL, BUT IT'S STILL WORTH NOTING: Oregon State first-year head coach Jay John makes his unofficial debut Monday. John spent the last four seasons as an assistant at the University of Arizona, and has coaching experience at Oregon, San Francisco, Butler, and Jamestown (NY) Community College.

SOMETHING TO SHOOT FOR: Oregon State hasn't won both of its exhibition games in the same season since the 1997-98 campaign.

FLOYD NORTH III SIDELINED: Oregon State sophomore guard Floyd North III is expected to miss the two exhibition games this season to concentrate on academic issues. He is scheduled to return for the Nov. 23 season opener vs. Idaho.

TICKET PROMOTIONS: Children 12 and under receive free admission to Monday's game, when accompanied by a paying adult. Single game general admission tickets will go on sale at halftime. Fans will receive a $3.00 discount on G.A. tickets bought during that time for every regular season game, except the Feb. 15 contest vs. Oregon.

INJURY UPDATE: Sophomore forward David Lucas has been bothered by an ankle injury and is listed as doubtful for Monday's game. Senior forward Brian Jackson (abdominal strain) and sophomore center Derek Potter (foot) practiced for the first time Mon., Oct. 28 and both are expected to be available.

TALL TEAM: The 2002-2003 roster features seven individuals 6-feet-7 inches or taller, the most since eight players were at least that height during the 1992-93 campaign.
