Bruins Earn No. 7 Seed in NCAA Tournament
Third-ranked UCLA earned a No. 7 seed in the 64-team NCAA Women's Soccer Championship field announced Monday. The Bruins will host local rivals USC, Loyola Marymount and San Diego for first and second round action this Friday and Sunday at Drake Stadium. On Friday, Nov. 15, USC (10-7-3; 5-4-0 Pac-10) will take on San Diego (11-6-3; 3-3-1 WCC) in the first match of the evening beginning at 6:00 p.m. That will be followed by UCLA (16-3; 8-1 Pac-10) vs. LMU (10-6-3; 3-3-1 WCC) at approximately 8:30 p.m. UCLA, which takes a seven-match winning streak into postseason play, leads the all-time series with LMU, 7-0. Most recently, the Bruins defeated the Lions, 3-2 on Oct. 6 at LMU. UCLA has also beaten San Diego and USC this year, defeating the Toreros, 6-0 on Aug. 30 and the Women of Troy, 2-0 on Oct. 27. The Bruins have reached the quarterfinals of the NCAA Tournament the last two years, making it all the way to the NCAA Final back in 2000.

UCLA Takes Seven-Match Winning Streak into Postseason Play
The Bruins, winners of seven in a row, have not dropped a match since a 1-0 loss to then-No. 2 Stanford back on Oct. 13 (UCLA's only Pac-10 defeat). After that setback, UCLA went on to post wins over Arizona, Arizona State, USC, Oregon, Oregon State, Washington and Washington State. During the streak, the Bruins have posted four shutouts, outscoring their opponents 16-3.

Bruins Finish Second in the Pac-10
With an 8-1 record in conference play, defending Pac-10 Champion UCLA finished second in the conference standings behind Stanford (9-0). Since 1996, UCLA has not finished out of the top-3 in the final Pac-10 standings, claiming three Pac-10 titles in the process (1997, 1998, 2001). Rounding out the top-5 this year were Washington State, USC and Washington.

Bruins Ranked No. 3 in Both Major Polls
After sweeping the Washington schools this past weekend, UCLA moved up one spot to No. 3 in the NSCAA/adidas poll. Stanford and North Carolina are Nos. 1 and 2 respectively. Despite the two victories, the Bruins dropped one spot to No. 3 in the Soccer America poll released Monday.
