THIS WEEK: Washington State University men's and women's cross country teams will be competing at the NCAA West Regional Cross Country Championships, Saturday, at Stanford University Golf Course in Stanford, California...women's 6,000 meter race begins at 10's 10,000 meter race at 11's race will feature national leader and host Stanford as well as No. 5 Oregon...women's race features No. 2 Stanford.

Cougar Head Coach Jason Drake says: 'This week's meet could be similar to Pasadena in that temperatures will be in the mid 60's and we're used to weather in the 40's and 50's so it could be a bit warm for our athletes. I would also like to see us continue to beat the teams we beat at the Pac-10 Championships. I also wouldn't mind catching up with teams like Washington. We'll also see some new teams like Portland and Cal Poly that are both good teams that have been to the NCAA tournament so if we can beat them that would be great.'

Coach Drake about the Cougar Women: 'I was thrilled with last week's performance by the women after starting the year out short-handed. Anna Blue continues to do well for us. If she had finished six seconds faster she could have moved into 13th place in the meet. The women's teams are pretty strong this year so if Anna Blue can finish in the top 20 that would be great.'

WSU Women's Team: Anna Blue, Sr., Olympia Wash; Ana Cabrera, Jr., Vancouver, Wash; Hillary Smith, Jr., Reno, Nev; Molly Bull, So., Oak Harbor, Wash; Julia Corbett, So., Bremerton, Wash; Hailey Young, Fr., Kent, Wash.

Coach Drake about the Cougar Men: 'The men raced well for us last week at the Pac-10 championships. Ian Johnson had a bad day and I had hoped that he and Danny Wolf would have finished in the top is 20 but Mike Heidt and Kyle Barker both really came on to help us out. Ian Johnson and Danny Wolf will both have legitimate chances to make it to the NCAA Championships.'

WSU Men's Team: Danny Wolf, So., Reno Nev; Ian Johnson, Jr., Spokane Wash; Kyle Barker, Sr., Oregon City, Ore; Mark Wicklander, Sr., Tacoma, Wash; Mike Heidt, So., Selah Wash; Justin Ireland, So., Issaquah, Wash; Reid Carrell, Fr., Spokane Wash.

NEXT WEEK: The Cougars will find out next Monday who will be eligible for the NCAA Championships in Terre Haute, Indiana, Mon., Nov. begins at 10 a.m. CT.
