The Ducks' 3-2 win over Arizona in 1998 marked the last time Oregon has defeated a ranked opponent. Lindsay Closs had 10-kills in Oregon's 3-0 loss to the Trojans and committed just two hitting errors to hit .500 in the match. Against UCLA, four Oregon players had 10 or more kills, including 21 by freshman Dariam Acevedo and 20 by Closs. Acevedo also added 20 digs while Lindsay Murphy had 18 digs and Lauren Westendorf had 15. Oregon hit a season-high .400 in the third game and pulled within 2-1 in the match after winning that game. The Ducks rallied late in game four, but eventually fell, 30-27.
