Conor Jackson Named Second Team Preseason All-American

PROVIDENCE, RI - California junior third baseman Conor Jackson has been selected as a second team Preseason All-American by the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association, it was announced today.
A 2002 first team All-Pac-10 selection, Jackson batted .382 (second in the Pac-10) with 16 doubles, two triples, 16 home runs (third in Pac-10) and 61 RBI (fifth in Pac-10) this past collegiate season for Cal. He was also first in the Pac-10 in slugging percentage (.691), second in total bases (152), fifth in hits (84) and fifth in on-base percentage (.461).
This past summer, Jackson was a member of the USA National Team, batting .312 (29-for-93) with 11 doubles, one home run and 11 RBI. He also had a .462 slugging percentage and a .416 on-base percentage for Team USA.
