Walnut Creek, CA - UCLA senior forward Tim Pierce has been named the Pac-10 Men's Soccer Player of the Week for Nov. 11-17, Commissioner Tom Hansen announced today.
Pierce, from Dana Point, Calif., had a hand in all three UCLA goals in the 3-1 win at Fresno State (Nov. 17) that clinched the Pac-10 title for the Bruins. Pierce scored the game's first two goals in a 10-minute span to give UCLA a 2-0 first-half lead. His second goal proved to be the game-winner, his team-high fourth on the year. With UCLA leading 2-1, Pierce assisted on a late second-half goal by junior forward Matt Taylor that gave the Bruins a 3-1 cushion. Pierce's goals were his team-leading ninth and 10th on the year, tying him for second in the Pac-10. He also leads the team and ranks second in the Conference in points (27). Pierce's seven assists pace the Bruins and are the the third-most in the Pac-10 this season.

The Bruins will host the winner of the Loyola Marymount-Cal State Northridge matchup Wed., Nov. 27 at UCLA's Drake Stadium. The Bruins advanced to the NCAA Tournament for the 20th consecutive season and captured their first-ever Pac-10 title and first Conference title since 1997.
