Three Arizona Football Players Earn Pac-10 All-Academic Honors

Three Arizona football players earned Pacific-10 Conference All-Academichonors and another three were selected honorable mention for 2002.

Senior quarterback Jason Johnson earned first-team honors for the secondconsecutive season and was joined by UA linebacker and sophomore longsnapper Ben DalMolin, who earned first-team defensive honors.

Redshirt freshman cornerback Darrell Brooks earned second-team defensiveall-academic honors while redshirt freshman quarterback Nic Costa, seniorwide receiver/special teams player Gens Goodman and senior place kickerSean Keel were honorable mention.

Johnson, a graduate student, completed a business management degree with a3.79 grade point average and carries a 3.74 for his religious studiesgraduate course. DalMolin, who earned honorable mention in 2001, was citedfor his 3.23 GPA in wildlife-watershed resources. Brooks, with anundeclared major, has a GPA of 3.27.

Costa (3.44, psychology), Goodman (3.16 chemistry) and Keel (3.05, ecologyand evolutionary biology) also met the minimium requirement of a 3.0cumulative grade point average for at least a completed full year'scoursework at their institution.
