Eastern Defeats WSU 77-63

PULLMAN, Wash. - Washington State's Bianca McCall recorded her second double-double of the season with 13 points and 10 rebounds in the Cougars' 77-63 defeat to the Eastern Washington Eagles in women's basketball action, Wednesday at Friel Court.
McCall was one of four Cougars (0-5) that reached double-digits in points. Jessica Perry (14 points), Ravon Justice (13 points) and Sarah Barrett (11 points) completed the double-digit scoring quartet.
Eastern, which improved to 3-2, was led by Stephanie Ulmer who scored a game-high 19 points. Kathleen Nygaard (16 points) and Stephanie McKinney (10 points) also reached double figures.
Eastern took control early, using a 21-4 run to build a 28-10 lead at the 8:48 mark of the first half. The Cougars chipped away at their deficit, however, and went into halftime down by just a 36-29 margin.
WSU pulled to within five on two occasions during the opening three minutes of the second half. After seeing its lead shaved to 38-33 with 17:23 remaining, Eastern went on a 10-1 run to pull ahead 48-34 at the 14:15 mark. The Eagles would maintain their double-digit advantage the remainder of the game.
The Cougars turned the ball over 31 times while Eastern recorded 18 steals, just three shy of its school record.
WSU has a week off before its next game at Gonzaga, Wednesday, Dec. 11 at 7 p.m.
