Three Men's Soccer Players Earn Pac-10 Academic Honors

Oregon State men's soccer student-athletes Peter Billmeyer, Aaron McHardy, and Kurt Ness were among those selected to the Pacific-10 Conference All-Academic teams, commissioner Tom Hansen announced Wednesday.

Billmeyer and McHardy were first-team honorees, and Ness garnered honorable mention.

For Billmeyer, also a first-team Verizon Academic All-Region pick, it was his first appearance on the Pac-10 Academic first team. A junior goalkeeper from Omaha, Neb., Billmeyer was a second-team selection last year as a sophomore. He maintains a 3.35 GPA as a Business major.

McHardy, a senior midfielder from Vancouver, British Columbia, was a first-team academic all-conference pick as a junior and a member of the second team as a sophomore. McHardy was also selected to the Verizon Academic All-America second team this year. He carries a 3.66 GPA and majors in Business.

Ness is a repeat honorable mention recipient as a defender, having earned that recognition as a sophomore last year. Ness, majoring in Psychology, hails from Redmond, Wash.

To be considered, a student-athlete must have a minimum 3.0 overall grade-point average and either be a starter or significant contributor.

Honorable mention

Kurt Ness, Jr., defender, 3.12 GPA (Psychology)
