<b>Husky Swimmers Start Strong in the First Day of the Husky Invitational</b>

FEDERAL WAY, Wash. - The 25th ranked University of Washington men'sand women's swimming teams competed in the first day of competition atthe 54th Annual Husky Invitational at the Weyerhaeuser King CountyAquatic Center. The men's and women's 1000 freestyle was the singleevent of the evening.

Washington junior John Lyssand captured first with a season high of9:22.65. Sophomore Kevin Quinn placed ninth with a tine of 9:36.81.

Freshman Haley Wolcott took 11th place with a season high of 10:15.56.Fellow freshman Megan Bright came in 12th with a new season high aswell of 10:18.45. Erin Reilly of the Sierra Marlins Swim Team took firstplace with a time of 9:54.65.

The Husky Invitational continues tomorrow, Dec. 6. Preliminaries begin at9:30 a.m. and finals begin at 6:00 p.m. The Weyerhaeuser King CountyAquatic Center is located at 650 SW Campus Drive in Federal Way.
