Tickets for Ducks' Seattle Bowl Appearance On Sale Monday

Dec. 8, 2002

EUGENE - EUGENE -- Tickets for the University of Oregon's Dec. 30 Seattle Bowl appearance vs. Wake Forest (6-6, 3-5) will go on sale beginning at 9 a.m. Monday at the South Ticket Building behind Autzen Stadium as well as by phone, according to the Ducks' Senior Associate Athletics Director Dave Heeke.

All tickets for the 2:30 p.m. game played at Seahawks Stadium are $53 each, plus a $10 shipping fee assessed to each order. This season's game marks the second edition for the formerly-named Oahu Buwl.

Parking will be provided for ticket purchasers in the east parking lot to Autzen Stadium, with no tickets sold from the Casanova Center Ticket Office that first day. Telephone orders will be accepted with use of a Visa or Mastercard by calling (541) 346-4461 or 1-800-WEB-FOOT.

The contest will mark Oregon's sixth-consecutive post-game appearance, as well as as its 11th bowl invitation in the last 14 years. The game will be a rematch of the 1992 Independence Bowl, a game won by Wake Forest 39-35 on Dec. 31, 1992, in Shreveport, La.

Oregon and Wake Forest also crossed paths in the 2002 NCAA men's basketball tournament, with the Ducks winning that second-round game 92-87 in Sacramento, Calif.

On the gridiron, Wake Forest (6-6, 3-5) is looking for its second straight winning season for the first time since 1987-88. The Deamon Deacons are coached by second-year head coach Jim Grobe, who was the head coach at Ohio University prior. Last season Wake Forest finished 6-5 overall in his first season and did not play in a bowl game.
