Volleyball's Ross And Adams Named To AVCA All-Region Teams

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - USC women's volleyball standouts - April Ross and Emily Adams - have been named to the 2002 AVCA All-Pacific Region team, announced Wednesday, Dec. 11, by the AVCA. Players selected to the All-Region teams are now eligible for All-America honors.
This is the third consecutive honor for Ross, but the first for Adams. Ross was also honored as the Pacific Region Freshman of the Year in 2000. Both were named to the 2002 All-Pac-10 first team.
Adams, a sophomore middle blocker leads the team, ranks second in the Pac-10 and third in the nation with a .412 attack percentage. On the block, she leads the team and ranks third in the conference with a 1.35 blocks per game average. Ross, a junior outisde hitter, averages a team-best 3.62 kills per game and o.41 aces per outing, in addition to posting 3.03 digs and 0.61 blocks per game.
Top-seeded USC will Michigan State on Thursday, Dec. 12, at 5 p.m. in the NCAA regional semifinal in Santa Barbara, Calif.
