TEMPE, Ariz. -- Arizona State junior defensive end Terrell Suggs has been named to the ESPN.com All-America team. In an outstanding season where Suggs set the NCAA record for sacks with 22, he has already been honored with the Bronko Nagurski Trophy as the nation's top defensive player, the Rotary Lombardi Award as the country's top lineman, and the Morris Trophy as the top defensive lineman in the Pac-10, as voted on by the conference's offensive lineman.
In addition to the NCAA sack record, Suggs also led the country in tackles for loss with 29.5, and he was tied for the most forced fumbles in the Pac-10 with six. In his three years in Tempe, Suggs has led the Sun Devils in sacks and tackles for loss every season. He now holds the ASU career record for sacks with 42.
Suggs remains a finalist for the inaugural Ted Hendricks Defensive End of the Year Award. That award will be presented on January 2 at Sun Devil Stadium in Tempe, to coincide with the BCS National Championship game the next day.
