SERIES: Oregon State has won all 10 meetings with Portland State, including last year's 51-46 victory at the Rose Garden. In what was one of the less than attractive games of the year, OSU outscored PSU 34-23 in the second half of last season's Dec. 12 game to post the come-from-behind victory. Brian Jackson paced the Beavers with 17 points with Philip Ricci adding 13. The only other player in double figures for the game was PSU's Anthony Lackey with 10 points. For the game, OSU shot .319 (15-47) from the field, while PSU was .364 (16-44). The last game between the two schools in Corvallis was Jan. 28, 1998 with OSU posting a 67-63 win in front of 5,163.

WIN STREAK: A win Tuesday would give Oregon State its fifth consecutive victory, the longest since the 1992-93 team, under former head coach Jim Anderson, won seven in a row. The seven-game win streak included victories over top-25 clubs Brigham Young, California, and UCLA.

BIG SKY BATTLES: Oregon State is 26-6 all-time vs. current Big Sky Conference members, but the last two have been struggles. The Beavers won at Sacramento State last week 62-49, after rallying to tie the game at 20 at halftime. The Beavers shot .429 for the game, but just .316 in the first half. Last year vs. PSU, the Beavers rallied from a six-point halftime deficit (23-17) to win 51-46. OSU shot .319 from the field for the game.

LOOKING FOR THE BIG GUYS: Oregon State is making a point to find its big guys, mostly Brian Jackson and Philip Ricci, through five games this season. The duo has combined for 38 percent of the team's field goal attempts and 40 percent of the free throw attempts. Another telling stat is OSU's three-point field goal attempts. The team gunned up 27 threes vs. Idaho in the season opener, but has attempted only 27 in the last three games combined. In fact, OSU is on pace to attempt 356 threes this season, which would be the second lowest mark since the 1987-88 campaign -- the second year of the three-point field goal in college basketball.
