Cal head coach Ben Braun postgame quotes:

On Brian Wethers --
He worked hard and took on the challenge. Brian made Boyd work and work and work. Brian played both ends of the floor well, and deservedly won the MVP award. He does the dirty work and he was the stopper today.

On Cal's overall effort --
We took away their inside presence. They have some tremendous athletes inside. But that was our best defensive effort of the year. We made them work for everything they got.

On passing Pete Newell and Lou Campanelli on Cal's coaching wins list --
It's a great feeling to be in the company of great coaches like Pete and Lou. I'm just happy to be part of the Cal tradition.
