Carter, Klaic Ranked No. 2 Doubles Team In Northwest Region

SEATTLE - Washington's Claire Carter and Darija Klaic earned a No. 2 ranking in doubles, while each earned top-15 singles billing in the Women's Tennis Northwest Region rankings released by the ITA, Dec. 10.

Klaic, ranked No. 9 in the Northwest Region, and Carter, ranked No. 13, joined three other Huskies in the singles top-30. Sophomore Dea Sumantri (17th), senior Colleen Gray (No. 20) and senior Erin Boisclair (No. 27) were also tabbed among the top women's singles players in their region. Gray and Sumantri also checked in as the No. 11 doubles team.

Carter and Klaic, a team that earned All-America honors last season, capped off a successful 2002 fall season by advancing to the doubles final of the National Indoor Championships in November after reaching the doubles final of the ITA Northwest Regional in October.

The Huskies open the 2003 spring season by hosting the Pac-10 Indoor Championships at the Lloyd Nordstrom Tennis Center, Friday, Jan. 17, through Sunday, Jan. 19.
