Women's Basketball Falls At Colorado, 93-86

BOULDER, Colo. - Tera Bjorklund scored a game-high 28 points Saturday to lead the Colorado Buffaloes to a 93-86 non-conference win over the USC Women of Troy at the Coors Events Center. Bjorklund went 9-for-12 from the floor and was 10-for-11 from the free throw line.
Colorado improves to 8-1 on the season while USC falls to 5-5.
Ebony Hoffman led USC with 23 points and 12 rebounds, including 18 points in the second half where the Women of Troy erased a 12-point deficit with 1:18 remaining. It was Hoffman's second straight double-double and her fifth on the season.
The first half was sluggish for both teams as USC was called for 16 fouls. The Buffaloes went 18-for-22 from the line while the Women of Troy did not have an attempt. Colorado used a 20-9 run in the final five minutes to hold a 36-26 lead at halftime.
Colorado led by 12 with 4:30 remaining in the game before USC used a spirited 16-4 run to even the game. After Hoffman made two free throws to tie the game at 86-86, she fouled out of the game with 58 seconds as Colorado scored seven straight points on free throws.
The Women of Troy will open Pac-10 Conference play next weekend on Friday (Dec. 27) at Oregon State and Sunday (Dec. 29) at Oregon.
