Homecoming, the Men's Basketball Version, Scheduled for Feb. 8-9
Dec. 31, 2002
Corvallis, Ore. - The Oregon State University Department of Athletics proudly announces Homecoming 2003 - the men's basketball version. The Homecoming festivities are scheduled for Feb. 8-9 on the OSU Campus in conjunction with the team's weekend home game against Stanford at Gill Coliseum.
'It's important for this program to reach back and welcome past players and coaches who have been a huge part of building the tradition of Oregon State basketball,' current Beaver head coach Jay John said. 'I grew up watching Oregon State teams experiencing success in the Pac-10 Conference and on a national scale, and it was due to the commitments of the program's student-athletes and coaches, and the tremendous support from Beaver fans. This event will help connect those individuals to the current members who are rebuilding the program to its rightful place among the nation's elite.'
Alumni players and coaches will be recognized at halftime of the Sunday matinee contest, and will be available for autographs following the game.
'We have a coaching staff who fits the Oregon State University mentality, and as a staff are working diligently to bring success back to the program,' Director of Athletics Bob De Carolis said. 'This is a tremendous opportunity for Beaver fans and past athletes and coaches to reunite.'
Beginning in January, fans will be able to participate in several on-line polls at osubeavers.com. Individuals will be able to sign up to win tickets to the Feb. 9 game while on-line. Please look for the Homecoming Logo.
