WHAT'S ON TAP . . . For the first time since 1974-75, McArthur Court plays host to a pair of Top 10 teams when No. 4 Arizona and No. 9 Oregon open Pac-10 play Thursday, Jan. 2 at 9:00 p.m. The last time two Top 10 teams met at Mac was February of 1975, when No. 8 USC edged No. 9 Oregon 81-80 on the seventh, and a day later, No. 2 UCLA outlasted the ninth-ranked Ducks 107-103 in the highest scoring game (two teams) ever played at Mac. The important weekend set continues on Saturday at 6:00 p.m. in a meeting with Pac-10 dark horse Arizona State.

THE MAC STREAK . . . Oregon's current 23-game home winning streak is tied for seventh-longest nationally. BYU is the leader at 41 games, followed by Tennessee Tech (33), Gonzaga (29), Oklahoma (29), Western Kentucky (27), Alabama (25) and Oregon and Marquette (23). Among those at home this week, Gonzaga hosts St. Joseph's on New Year's Eve, while BYU hosts Pepperdine Thursday night. The last team to defeat UO at Mac was USC, Feb. 24, 2001. The streak is tied for the longest ever at UO:

KEY STAT . . . Oregon has more assists than the opposition in all 10 games thus far. The Ducks average 19.1 assists per game, compared to the opponents' 10.7.
