ASU Places Second At Maui Invitational

January 4, 2003Sun Devil Gymnasts place second at Maui InvitationalMAUI, Hawaii-----The Arizona State University women's gymnastics team finished with a score of 194.200 at the Maui Invitational. Freshman Ashley Kelly made her Sun Devil debut count as she finished second in the all-around competition, posting a score of 38.975.

Stanford won the invitational with a 196.050. Arizona State came in second at 194.200, while New Hampshire finished third with a 193.325. San Jose State was fourth at 189.825.

Stanford's Lise Leville won the all-around with a 39.400, and her teammate, Natalie Foley, placed second with a 39.350. Kelly of Arizona State finished third with a 38.975.

Senior Cassidy Vreeke placed third in the vault with a 9.800 while Kelly also placed second on the uneven bars (9.825).

The Sun Devils open at home against Washington, on Friday, Jan. 17, at 7:30 p.m. at Wells Fargo Arena.
