No. 20 Wildcats Beat Beavers

TUCSON, Ariz. (AP) - Shawntinice Polk had 18 points and 11 rebounds for her10th double-double of the season, leading No. 20 Arizona to a 72-44 victoryover Oregon State on Saturday.

The Wildcats (9-3, 3-1) led by 16 points at the break and built on that leadwith a 16-2 run at the start of the second half.

Natalie Jones converted a three-point play and hit a 3-pointer to giveArizona a 47-19 lead. The Wildcats led by as many as 39 points in the secondhalf.

Dee-Dee Wheeler added 15 points, Aimee Grzyb scored 11 and Krista Warren had10 for Arizona.

Mandy Close led Oregon State with 11 points.

Arizona charged to a 10-2 lead in the first six minutes, scored 10 straightpoints and opened a 24-6 lead with 7:39 left in the first half.

Oregon State (7-6, 1-3) scored the last seven points of the first half toclose within 31-15, but was unable to overcome its 16 turnovers and 28 percentshooting from the field in the first half.

Oregon State shot 31 percent for the game. Arizona shot 54 percent.
